Burgess,

Mitchell

& Seal

Jazz, Blues, Swing, Latin, Bop, R&B

In the world of music, you can add one plus one plus one and get one that’s better….Greg Burgess on piano and vocals, Steve Mitchell on drums and Andy Seal on bass bring together three lifetimes of playing, listening and learning to form one hot band.  Experts can’t agree on what that thing is that makes a band “cook’ but whatever “it” is, they have it.  Whether you prefer the cool of jazz, the soul of blues or the back beat of rock and roll, you will find it done to your liking at a BMS gig.

Greg Burgess can knock your socks off when he’s got that Mojo working...Steve Mitchell...the backseat driver, the man who sets the rhythm and keeps it there...Andy Seal...master at setting the groove….When all these ‘ones’ come together, the sound is definitely their own.  An amalgam of quicksilver jazz and down and dirty blues.  Not a slick fusion but a loose fit that leaves room to take the music where it wants to go.  Room for a longer note or a shorter pause that keeps the sound fresh from gig to gig.  It’s what keeps fans coming back for more

Burgess, Mitchell & Seal perform a wide variety of music, the hits of Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, and Nat King Cole, the jazz of Duke, Count, Bird, Dizzy, Monk, Miles and Trane, the blues of Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf, the rock and roll of Jerry Lee Lewis and Fats Domino, and Burgess’s own tunes.  The three musicians like to play weddings, festivals, and special events and are big favorites with restaurant and nightclub audiences.  Since 2001, they have hosted the Sunday Jazz Workshop at the Bullfrog Brewery in Williamsport, PA, and in 2003 performed as headliners at the Billtown Blues Festival in Hughesville, PA.  The trio

has appeared in concerts with the Bloomsburg University Symphony Orchestra, at special events at Susquehanna and Bucknell Universities and Keuka College, and has done educational performances for the Brown Library of Williamsport.
